Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Philippians 4:4-8
In Philippians chapters 1-3 Paul gives us many tools and examples to prevent conflict and anxiety on our lives. In chapter four Paul addresses Euodias and Syntyche regarding their conflict. The above verses were for them as well as us. When we face conflict, turmoil, frustrations, negative thinking, and anger; we can do what Paul says to do here.
We can look to the Lord and rejoice. We can replace harshness with gentleness. Instead of worrying, we will pray. God will give us peace wherewith we will be able to think on those things that are honest, just, pure, lovely, good, virtuous, and praiseworthy. These are all attributes of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Christians need revival! It is an awakening of us to spiritual concerns from a state of neglect and carelessness. When we obey the commands of Philippians 4:4-8, it will lead to revival in our lives. It is a prescription for revival! Please read these verses a few times and meditate upon them. Verse 8 is a good verse to memorize.
