Welcome Alfred and Shirley King

Kayla, Hayley, Ethan, Ashlynn, and Melody

Pastor Alfred King will be installed as our pastor during the morning service. He is preaching all three services today.

After the morning service we will have food and fellowship in the Fellowship Hall.

Alfred King was saved in 1998 at the age of 15 because of the Deaf Ministry of New Testament Baptist Church. He was baptized here the same year and was called to preach in 1999. Alfred’s wife Shirley (formerly Shirley Schones) was saved at the age of 4 and later baptized in New Testament in 1990. They were married in June 2004 and Shirley graduated with a BA in Elementary Education in 2005.

Alfred graduated from Heartland Baptist Bible College in May of 2006, with a BA in Pastoral Studies and served as a Missions Intern at Fellowship Baptist Church of Liberal, Kansas under Pastor Bill Prater where he finished the program in April 2009. He returned to Arizona with his wife Shirley and three children (they now have five children) and began working on starting a church in Oro Valley. In April 2010, North Valley Baptist Church was founded and has flourished under Alfred’s pastoral ministry. Pastor Daniel Ligon is now the pastor there.

Brother King is also serving as secretary of the Arizona Independent Baptist Fellowship since 2014. He is currently an officer on the Board of Directors at Heartland Baptist Bible College as well.

Let us do all we can to continue serving the Lord under Pastor King’s leadership. He is gifted teacher and loves teaching the preaching the Word of God.

SATISFIED

Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness . Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, … Isaiah 55:1-3

Have you ever taken a water glass and filled it to the brim, then filled it just a little more to see the water crest a little above the glass without spilling? That is a full glass of water! There is no room for anything else in the glass.

They say that to spend less money at the supermarket we should shop on a full stomach. We buy less. The best way for us to not waste our life on those things that do not satisfy, is to let God fill us. He satisfies. He quenches our thirst and satiates our soul. When temptations come our way, and we are filled to the brim with God in our life, then we can overcome those temptations.

Do not reject anything of what God has for you. We must turn our ear towards God. We must come and listen. He will satisfy. As we participate in the church services today, let us open our ears to listen and ask God to speak to us.

Galatians 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
