Psalm 40:1-3 To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.
Introduction: God has a purpose in delivering us. He wants for us to serve Him. We must give God our hands, our feet, our ears, our mouth, our eyes, etc. What I want to be, do, and have should be what God wants for me, that he might use me.
1. God establishes our goings – God provides every resource we need to serve him and live for him.
a. Walk in newness of life with Christ. Romans 6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
b. Christ is in heaven interceding for us. Romans 8:34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
c. The Word of God 2 Timothy 3:16-17 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
d. The Divine nature 2 Peter 1:3-4 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
e. The Holy Spirit
Conviction, guidance, illumination, promptings John 14, 16; Romans 8

2. We have no excuses! Let's serve Him with our whole heart. Colossians 3:23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;
