God’s Word is true from Genesis to Revelation. There is no error in it. The Bible is the foundation for our faith and practice as a Christian. If you have any doubts regarding the truth of the Bible, it will be reflected in your Christian life.

How can I become more confident in the truth of the Bible?

Read it and listen to the preaching of the Word. God, the author of the Bible, will open your eyes to its truth. The Bible is different than any other book. It is a living book. God speaks to our hearts through it. There are many arguments, and “proofs” of the truth of the Bible such as fulfilled prophecy and its unity. Read it, and God will prove it to you.

In regard to the truth of Scripture, L. Gaussen says, “One submits only by halves to an authority which he has had it in his power to decline, and which he has once held to be doubtful. One worships but imperfectly what he has first degraded.” If one doubts the Bible, he doubts God. A person would be in a position to worship a God of their own making. A God that would be lenient to allowing them to do whatever they wanted to do.

Let’s look some Bible verses that attest to the veracity of the Word of God.  

Psalm 12:6 (KJV) The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.

David was mourning the fact that the vilest of men were being promoted and followed. It was hard to find a faithful man who loved God. All seemed to be liars. During this time, David considered that God and His Word were True and Reliable. David had a foundation for living.  

Psalm 119:142 (KJV) Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and thy law is the truth.

The Scriptures are called the Scriptures of truth, Da 10:21 they come from the God of truth, and all that is contained in them is truth; the legal part of them is truth, and so is the Gospel; that is called the word of truth, and truth itself: it is concerning Christ, who is the truth; and it is directed into and made effectual by the Spirit of truth, and contains in it many excellent truths; and is therefore deservedly valued and esteemed by all good men; see Joh 17:17. – John Gill

Daniel 10:21 (KJV) But I will shew thee that which is noted in the scripture of truth: and there is none that holdeth with me in these things, but Michael your prince.



John 17:17 (KJV) Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

2 Peter 1:19-21 (KJV) We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

2 Timothy 3:15-17 (KJV) And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

I confess that God’s Word is absolute truth. I reject the lies that I have believed and have decided to filter every thought and decision in my life through the truth of God’s Word.
