WILL YOU EVER EXPERIENCE THE WRATH OF GOD?

WILL YOU EVER EXPERIENCE THE WRATH OF GOD?

1 Thessalonians 1:9-10 For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God; And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.

Our Evangelist Mike Pelletier spoke on the names of Hell last Sunday morning. Hell is a place of wrath. Also, the Great Tribulation period will be a time of God’s Wrath. I believe that today some people experience the wrath of God because of their sinful behavior. Psalm 2:12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.

It is not in God’s perfect will to pour out His wrath on anyone. He invites all to come to Him. Isaiah 45:22 Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.

Our being condemned or not to God’s wrath depends on whether we have put our faith in Jesus Christ. He took our place in bearing our sins and experiencing the wrath of God on the cross. Christ’s death appeased God’s wrath towards the believer. John 3:17-18 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

·       Romans 5:8-9 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

·       1 Thessalonians 5:9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,

·       Romans 8:1-2 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

Note: Sometimes Christians do experience what we may think is the wrath of God. However, it is not God’s wrath; it is his loving discipline. God does ponder the paths of life we take and often uses the circumstances of life to get us back on the right path.

·       Proverbs 5:21 For the ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD, and he pondereth all his goings.

·       Proverbs 24:12 If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not he that pondereth the heart consider it? and he that keepeth thy soul, doth not he know it? and shall not he render to every man according to his works?

·       Hebrews 12:6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.

God does not want us to live in fear. Those who do not know God often live in fear; however, as Christians love should overpower fear in our lives.

·       2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

·       1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
