2 Thessalonians 1:5 (KJV) Which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer:
We will all stand before God to give an account. Are we living up to God’s calling on our lives? We are the called of Jesus Christ; called to be saints; called according to His purpose; called unto the fellowship of His Son Jesus Christ our Lord; called to peace; called unto liberty; called in one body; called unto His kingdom and glory; called unto holiness; called with a holy calling; called out of darkness into His marvelous light; and called to glory and virtue.
If your boss promoted you and gave you a big raise in pay, wouldn’t you want to please the boss by living up to the new expectations? God expects that we will live up to our calling. Paul and Peter prayed thus. We must live purposefully in fellowship with God desiring for His will to be done through us. Job said, “I am escaped with the skin of my teeth.” Many Christians today are satisfied with just being saved from hell. There is no productivity. There is no personal feeling of responsibility to fulfill God’s design for their lives. They are not appreciative of all that God has done.
God gives us the wherewithal by His grace to live up to His calling. Let’s be counted worthy!
2 Thessalonians 1:11-12 (KJV) Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power: That the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
