Notes from the Revival
Some Exhortations and Notes from the Revival with Pastor Bill Prater

Revival is the moving of God’s Spirit through the power of His Word to the hearts of His people that resurrects to new life those areas that have been lying stagnant, dormant, or out of balance; and results in new love and obedience to Jesus Christ.
Pastor Prater preached six times – all from the book of Nehemiah. Nehemiah has 14 chapters. Chapters 1-7 regard building God’s work; chapters 8-14 regard building God’s people.
Sunday School – Nehemiah 8 – The Jewish people heard Bible preaching. It sometimes stings, burns, cuts, and breaks like a hammer. The people responded with weeping over sin and rejoicing over forgiveness, then they obeyed. When God shows you that you need to make a change in your life, do not wade in; dive in!
Sunday AM – Nehemiah 1 – Nehemiah left the palace in Babylon to see for himself the destroyed city of Jerusalem. There needed to be an honest evaluation of the city. The city is a metaphor for our broken lives. We must honestly evaluate what is broken down in our life. The people that lived in the city had become accustomed to the ruins. They were apathetic and neglectful. We cannot just blow off the wreckage in our own lives. We must not give up.
Sunday PM – Nehemiah 5 – Conflict Resolution – We must not cut that which can me untied. Pastor Prater had a rope with many knots in it. They all could have been untied. Often people cut ties with their church, family, friends, work, spouse, etc., when resolution is possible. Pastor Prater cut off the knots like people often do even when God desires reconciliation.
Monday PM – Nehemiah 2 & 3 – Teamwork – No one can do everything, but everyone can do something. Any work done for the Lord is a good work!
Tuesday PM – Nehemiah 4 – Down but Not Out – Every advance will suffer attack. At each step of advancement in the Christian life, Satan will fight your plan to serve God. Do not quit. The devil is relentless. We must not isolate ourselves. We need each other. God invented church. When we are not in church, we are like the gazelle who when separated from the herd is vulnerable to attack from the lion.
Wednesday PM – Nehemiah 1 – Nehemiah’s Prayer – Prayer is fellowship with God. 1. Start with Praise, 2. Confess sin, 3. Incorporate God’s Word, 4. Ask for great things – Pray big. (Note: All of these messages are on our website.)
